The Libertines are prepping for the release of their long-awaited return album, Anthems for Doomed Youth, and with that in mind, they have debuted a second track from the LP.

The Pete Doherty-led outfit performed Antehms for Doomed Youth’s opening track, “Barbarians,” during their Maida Vale session on BBC Radio 1 today (July 28). You can hear the entire interview and in-studio set via the audio player below; skip ahead to the 7:50 mark to listen to “Barbarians”:

Anthems for Doomed Youth is due out Sept. 4 via Harvest Records and Virgin/EMI, and it follows the English rockers’ 2004 self-titled effort. The Libertines have already shared the upcoming album’s lead single, “Gunga Din.”

While we'll have to wait another month before we can get our hands on Anthems for Doomed Youth, the recently reunited Libertines already sound game to jump into their next album. During an interview earlier this month, the four-piece were all in agreement about making another album, with Doherty adding that he hoped to start recording “as soon as possible.”
