Along with the announcement that they would soon release Dodge and Burn, their first album in five years, the Dead Weather quickly told fans not to get their hopes up for a tour behind the upcoming LP. However, that didn’t rule out TV appearances -- especially for the buzzed-about arrival of Stephen Colbert as host of the Late Show.

Last night (Sept. 14), Alison Mosshart, Jack White, Dean Fertita and Jack Lawrence visited Colbert during his second week as host to perform Dodge and Burn’s “I Feel Love (Every Million Miles).” The occasion also marked the band’s first performance in the five years that have passed since 2010’s Sea of Cowards.

Mosshart -- also of the Kills -- managed to fill a room otherwise packed with an audience firmly and unmovingly planted in their seats with the sheer magnitude of her live presence and charisma. Check out the performance in the video up above.

Dodge and Burn is due out Sept. 25 via White’s own Third Man Records. The Dead Weather have already shared a music video for “I Fee Love,” along with a handful of other Dodge and Burn tracks, including the recently unveiled “Cop and Go,” “Too Bad” and “Buzzkill(er).” The latter two were released last year long before the band announced their comeback album.
