The History Channel is proud to announce its brand-new TV series ‘Vikings,’ set to air on March 3. The fictional program takes place in Ireland and is based loosely on the reign of the heroic Viking King Ragnar Lothbrok. What’s the song in the gripping promo?

The powerful tune is AWOLNATION’s ‘Sail,’ and it goes hand in hand with the trailer’s stormy theme. It’s the first single from their 2011 album ‘Megalithic Symphony,’ and it gained widespread recognition after reaching No. 10 on the Billboard Rock Songs chart.

In addition to appearing in the teaser shown below, ‘Sail’ has turned up in a number of other commercials, including ads for Nokia, Under Armour and the Fox series ‘House.’ It was also featured in episodes of ‘The Good Wife,’ ‘Longmire’ and ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’ Macy Gray even recorded her own version of the track on her album ‘Covered.’

You might have caught AWOLNATION on tour with such acts as Imagine Dragons, Zeale and Canadian punk band Billy Talent. The group is currently sponsoring a scavenger hunt and giving away some cool swag, including a custom snowboard, and if you can find their hidden spaceman somewhere on Diffuser.fm -- as well as five others stashed elsewhere on the web -- you stand a chance of winning.
