Two seemingly opposite musical titans, electronica mastermind Moby and gruff-throated rocker Mark Lanegan, have teamed up for the new song 'The Lonely Night.' Both are veteran musicians -- Moby the DJ behind 1999's diamond-certified 'Play,' Lanegan a former Screaming Trees/Gutter Twins member and serial collaborator whose list of credits includes the Twilight Singers and Mad Season -- and each brings his distinct sound on the slow-burning electronica ballad, which will be released Saturday as a Record Store Day 7-inch single, with the flip side featuring a remix from Phoenix.

The Colin Rich-directed 'Lonely Night' video features gorgeous time-lapse footage of the sun sweeping across the vast sky of the Mojave Desert and the lights of Los Angeles sparkling at night. "‘Lonely Night’ provided to me a thematic of isolation and solitude,” Rich said of the clip in a press release. “So I attempted to create a reflectively temporal voyage from ruin and desolation into the edge of civilization and back again.”
