Moby’s Los Angeles Mansion Is on the Market for $4.5 Million
A mansion owned by Moby in the Los Feliz section of Los Angeles is on the market for $4.495 million. Moby, who also has another place in Los Feliz, bought the property two years ago for $3.4 million. You can take a look inside the house below.
According to the listing at Redfin, the gated Red Oak Manor at 5509 Red Oak Drive was "totally re-imagined" by Moby after a two-year renovation. Sitting on a 9,694-square-foot lot, the 4,644-square-foot house was built in 1926, and contains five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. There are two master suites on the second floor, one of which has a loft that can be used as a study or for yoga.
Moby has updated the kitchen, which includes a walk-in pantry, and added an outdoor living room that leads to the pool and spa and planted trees to increase privacy. An assistant's office and guest suite not only contains a full bath with a steam room, it is accessible via a speakeasy-style entrance. But as the Los Angeles Times points out, there are still original details to be found, such as the vaulted ceilings and the surrounds for its three fireplaces.
On March 2, Moby will release Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt, his 15th album, which features the single "Like a Motherless Child." It's his third album in as many years, following last year's More Fast Songs About the Apocalypse and 2016's These Systems Are Failing, and is reportedly influenced by such diverse acts as Grace Jones, Marianne Faithfull and Soul Makossa.
