Yesterday (Feb. 13), Kentucky's Sturgill Simpson returned to the Late Show With David Letterman to perform his twangy "Long White Line," a track from his newest album, Metamodern Sounds in Country Music. The result was as good as an outlaw country jam you could wish for. You can catch the full performance below.

Simpson had previously appeared on Letterman back in July, before his infectious new self-released album had dropped (and eventually earned him a Grammy nomination for Americana Album of the Year). He also recently signed to Atlantic Records, joining a huge brand to only further his burgeoning sound of alt-country rock and roll.

Simpson's late night circuit has found him hanging with Jimmy Fallon, Conan O'Brien and Seth Meyers. He's in the middle of an extensive tour in support of Metamodern Sounds in Country -- check out our review of last night's Brooklyn performance here.
