AOL’s web series, True Trans With Laura Jane Grace -- which centered on the Against Me! frontwoman’s journey within the transgender community -- has received an Emmy nomination.

The 10-episode True Trans aired last year, and it followed Grace’s personal transition experience after coming out in 2012 as well as the experiences of others within the community. Now, the series has earned a News & Documentary Emmy nomination in the New Approaches: Arts, Lifestyle, Culture category.

“We’re absolutely thrilled by the nomination, as it validates our relentless commitment to creating great content with incredible stories,” AOL President of Video Dermot McCormack said in a statement. “It’s an absolute honor to receive this incredible recognition from the premier awards for excellence.”

Grace shared her reaction on Twitter:

True Trans -- which can still be seen in its entirety on AOL -- is up against the New York TimesInside the Kronos Quartet, Notes on Blindness and Small Plates; MediaStorm’s Hungry Horse; and PBS’ POV Digital: StoryCorps: Military Voices. Winners will be announced during the ceremony on Sept. 28.

Against Me! are set to release their new live album, 23 Live Sex Acts, on Sept. 4.
