Yeasayer are finally planning to roll out the followup to their successful 2010 release 'Odd Blood.' The Brooklyn group announced that 'Fragrant World' will see an August 21 release.

The album features 11 tracks, many of which have titles that have to do with bones, death or demons, like 'Devil and the Deed,' 'Reagan's Skeleton,' 'No Bones' and 'Demon Road.' And that doesn't even include 'Henrietta,' a track on which singer Chris Keating sings, "Death's not the end."

Keating says 'Fragrant World' has some unexpected musical inspirations behind it. “I listened to a lot of R&B records while we were making this,” he explains. “I wanted to make a record that was legitimately, to use a bad word, funky. Listening to Teddy Pendergrass and then Aaliyah records. Something that legitimately has a sway to it."

Keating told the magazine that mixing the album in London was rough: "We were so crazy sick that we thought we were going to die. The three of us were in the apartment we rented. Maybe it was the cathartic dispelling of the pent-up dark tension of this record.”

'Odd Blood' was the band's most successful release to date, reaching No. 5 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart and helping the group land performance slots at several major festivals.
