The Flaming Lips are making more friends with their decision to make the Record Store Day release 'The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends' available to the masses.

The group spent the better portion of the past couple of years recording interesting collaborations with a wide array of music acts and then they compiled them all into the 'Heady Fwends' release that was initially offered as a limited edition vinyl for Record Store Day. It became one of the Top 3 selling releases for this year's event.

Because the vinyl sold out instantly and the demand for the record was so overwhelming, the group decided that pressing more copies was in order. Warner Bros. Records will make the full album available on CD and digitally via all digital retailers on June 26.

The set includes collaborations with Bon Iver ('Ashes in the Air'), Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros ('Helping the Retarded to Know God'), My Morning Jacket's Jim James ('That Ain't My Trip'), Nick Cave ('You Man? Human???'), Erykah Badu ('The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face') and Neon Indian ('Is David Bowie Dying?'). There's also contributions from Ke$ha, Biz Markie, Prefuse 73, Tame Impala, Lightning Bolt, Yoko Ono and the Plastic Ono Band, New Fumes and Ghostland Observatory's Aaron Behrens.

In other Flaming Lips news, the band is in the final stages of recording their next studio album. It's expected this fall with a tour to follow. As if that weren't enough, the group is also planning a musical stage production based around their 'Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robot' album. It will premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse in California during the theater's 2012/2013 season.

With the recording nearing completion, the Flaming Lips will get the giant bubble ready and hit the road for more summer shows.
