Author Stephen Chbosky's critically acclaimed coming-of-age young adult novel 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' has been adapted into a movie expected to hit screens later this year, and the song 'It's Time' by Imagine Dragons serves as the perfect soundtrack to its just-released trailer.

The book, which was published in 1999, tells the story of a wallflower freshman named Charlie starting high school in Pittsburgh, Pa. after the suicide of his best friend. Charlie goes on to befriend a misfit senior girl named Sam and her gay stepbrother Patrick, who introduce him to a whole new world of music, art, drug experimentation and more, drawing him out of his shell in the process.

The film adaptation was directed by Chbosky from a script he also penned. Filming took place on location in Pittsburgh last year, with Logan Lerman playing Charlie, Emma Watson as Sam and Ezra Miller depicting Patrick. It is Watson's first major film role since taking on Hermione Granger in the 'Harry Potter' series. The flick is due to hit screens Sept. 14.

'It's Time' was the first single off if Imagine Dragons' six-song 'Continued Silence' EP, which was released digitally on Feb. 14 and managed to peak at No. 2 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums tally. It's the fourth EP from the Las Vegas-based band, which has yet to release a full-length album but has still managed to accumulate a ton of buzz. Their placement in the 'Wallflower' trailer likely will only add to their momentum.
